This add-in allows the user to easily query data from Salesforce, a cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) platform.
The Salesforce Query Tool queries data from Salesforce through a REST API call using the fields that the user selects and types in. The query is conducted using Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL), a language with similar syntax to SQL. There are several different add-in files that serve different purposes:
Add-in Files:
- Object Fields.jmp – provides the Salesforce objects and their associated fields, to create a hierarchical list box in the GUI
- Concatenating Script.jsl – script used to add new objects and their associated fields to Object Fields.jmp, making the new fields accessible in the GUI
- New SF Auth.jsl – script used to authenticate into Salesforce
- Query Formula.jsl – script containing function that makes a REST API call to Salesforce to query data
- Query UI.jsl – script that constructs the GUI and conducts the query
